Fundraising /Development Director

Provide leadership and management to the fundraising program and nurture strong trusting relationships with churches, corporations, foundations, ministry partners and major donors, with the goal of engaging them in meaningful service with the poor. Implement and maintain a clear focus for local, national, international programs, insuring accountability for current and future initiatives that are appropriately aligned with the overall program strategy of Shaping Destiny.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of successful direct fundraising and management experience.
  • Experience in searching, writing, and procuring grants.
  • Ability to manage budget and reporting systems.
  • Reports to the Director of Shaping Destiny.
  • Key target start date: September 15

Manage strategic and operational planning, budgetary control and staffing evaluation to optimize individual, team and regional performance.

  • Develop and execute a strategy to increase regional presence and awareness by integrating and leveraging all available Shaping Destiny resources.
  • Review plans, programs and budgets submitted by staff to ensure approved objectives and goals are implemented.
  • Set and deliver on specific, quantifiable and measurable performance goals for fundraising, programs delivery and church relations.
  • Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Excel proficiency a must. Great use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, judgment and confidentiality required.  

Be able to manage a team of staff specializing in fundraising and marketing and collaborate with staff specializing in domestic programs and church relations.  Hire, fire, train, counsel, evaluate, and recommend salary increases and promotions for those under direct supervision.  Perform other duties as assigned.  Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as part of a team. Communicate Shaping Destiny’s Christian values and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

Required Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Management and/or fundraising experience; 3 or more years.
Job Location: Houston or Temple Texas.
Position Type: Full-Time/Regular
Working Environment / Conditions: Standard office environment. Travel required to 25%.
